oxymoron : Happy Halloween
25F here today. going to stay not much warmer than that for the next few days.
I think I still have the bee's stinger in my hand.
I know , wasps do not leave their stinger in after stinging you. but I really pressed down on this wasp. I can see a tiny black dot and if I press on it, I get another dose of pain..
........jiminwisc......
Get a needle in there, tear it open and dig it out...
...gonna hurt like hell, but relief afterwards.

Yeah, I know, but having my coffee, first.
I have had worse in the form of wood slivers and nails.
I once shot a spike with my pneumatic nailer , through a finger and right through my finger nail from the bottom. where the spike exited the finger nail, it made four protrusions that resembled a flower.
I also had a wood sliver go through my finger right between the second joint .
It took a long time to pull that one out. I dug a crater around it, and finally had my dad get ahold of it with a needle nosed pliers. He had to pull hard.

Rain Chimes 'discovered' several weeks ago with an outside dog bowl dumped of skeeter larvae, it inadvertently ended up under the drip line and took me days to figure out what the pinging noise was. Once I figured it out I grabbed 3 more bowls from the kitchen to add to the song. Yesterday I added Rascals inside bowl to the mix.

So musical! I envy you the rain Aart. It's been really dry here.

Eeeewww. Your descriptions are way too vivid Jim!:sick :p

I took off the corner of my pointer finger on a big a$$ disc sander.
Also carved a flap of skin off the back of my hand at base of thumb with pruning saw.

Yeah, I know, but having my coffee, first.
@jvls1942 I hope you didn't faint doing the needle dig and crack yer head....you OK?

Beautiful sunny morning but cold for here, dipped down to freezing again last night and still no rain in the forecast for another week. I'll be scrounging roof drip water for the raised bed.

Got a load of chips yesterday from a local tree trimmer so between that and the pile of old wood waiting for someone to remove the nails from (where are the nail-fairies when you need them) I might be forced to get something useful done today.

Closing on the house is set back another week due to buyer paperwork issue. Trying not to let it freak us out too much. New date is November the 8th. Please keep your fingers crossed for us.
Good luck!

good cold pre winter morning,
I managed to not feint..I took a push pin from the bulletin board . It was too blunt, so I sharpened it. the dot is gone, so I assume I got the stinger out.
to all of you,,,,OUCH !
I once hooked my thumbnail off with my table saw. At first, I thought I cut the thumb off. Wife drove me 20 miles to the doctor.
he looked at it and said, Oh, that's not so bad. I said, sure, because it's not your thumb. there was enough root left so that the nail grew back.
yesterday I moved the freezer in the garage to the opposite wall. going to put the extra table saw where it (freezer) was.
DD is going to take the freezer,(soon I hope)
I repaired two drafting table lamps. going to use one for light in the corner of the garage where the new shelves are. the other one has a nice strong clamp so I can mount it anywhere I need light to work..
I have some extension cords that have ends missing, and one that is waaay too long. going to fix that with new ends.
I figure I will have four nice extension cords when I am done.
I found a nice limber, not too long, air hose in my collection. It needs both ends. I have plenty of ends in my collection.
so far, I have found about a dozen propane tanks. I will check to see how many are empty.
Someone threw one of those tanks onto my burn pile. I suspect a carpenter friend of mine who unloaded some burnables.
when I had the fire going good and hot, that tank went BANG, took off straight up into the air like a rocket. I figure it went about 500 feet up. had a smoke trail part way. Then, I didn't know where it was going to come down, so I got under the oak tree.
It came down almost into the fire.
