doing a lot of reading about tractor transmission. It seems that water in transmission is very common with my style of tractor.
Cappy, how do you plan on removing stumps and roots ?
A few years ago I cut down a dozen dead birch trees. Then I attacked the stumps with my tractor w/front loader.
I dug a hole along side of the stump, then hooked the bucket under the stump and lifted them up.
All went fine until the 3rd to last stump.
I was lifting and jerking with the bucket when all of a sudden my front axle broke in half.. $1200.oo worth.
Aart, that ladder will cripple you. find a used flat stepped, step ladder.
I only knew my step ladder, never met my real ladder..

I'm already crippled
I have other ladders, this is a funky old half a wooden ladder that gets left outside.
It's perfect for moving the cleats to open and close the windows.
Easier than hauling a different ladder out there.
job was of pretty short duration,
I only use that ladder to work on coop windows twice a year.

Don't think this slipped past buddy...

We took Trouble (formerly known as Truffle) in for his big boy operation yesterday. He seems fine today and willing to forgive and forget. Next week his buddy, Baby-Kitty gets his done.

We put out another hummingbird feeder the other day and is was already empty this morning. We're told this is the slow season for hummers but with three feeders outside we have constant activity.

Oh and I don't know why I didn't use hot cocktail sauce on my perch before, it was delicious! Thanks Jim for the suggestion.

Sadly, I have no tractor. So I will have to dig around them and maybe pull by Mule.

I am missing the hummingbirds, they have migrated south for the winter.

supposed to hit below zero . no humming birds around. they flew south. they obviously have more brains than we humans do.
what kinds of stumps do you have to pull ?
Probably a little late, but leave a good length of trunk . hook as high as you can, more leverage. chop the roots loose from the stump. then pull the roots separately after the stump is out.
If you can borrow a motor chain hoist, hook it between two stumps. one of them will let loose. It is a heavy piece of equipment, but has 3 tons of pulling power.
I have used mine a couple of times to pull my tractor out of a mud hole.
boots, glad you liked the mock shrimp..
I can't send a picture, but this morning Annie showed me a cartoon picture of a turkey saying: What's this ? scheduling my operation for thanksgiving day ??
Annie's scheduled for the day before thanksgiving..
