I started asparagus in flats from seed a few years back.
they came up but stayed hair like and short. I tossed them.
when it is time to plant your tomatoes, lay them on their sides in the pot in the sun. It won't take long and the tips will bend up toward the sun, then you can plant them without having to bend them, If you plant them horizontally like I do.
green peppers can be planted right up to their bottom leaves. place a ring of newspaper around the stem to keep the leaves from pasting themselves to the ground. in a few days you can remove the paper or leave it for mulch..
You probably know all of this. but I wanted to hear it again..
it looks like the snow is letting up. also looks like about 6'' of new snow..
That's evidently what baby asparagus looks like, the instructions say it'll be 3 years before I get a crop. I couldn't get many roots of any quality so the seeds are kind of an experiment.

I knew the tomato trick but I forgot all about it, so thanks and I will use that tip. And I never heard of that with the peppers before so I guess that explains my ad luck with them, so thanks for that tip too!
