Helpful hints for building coops

Today we put up bird netting over the garden. What a pain, gets caught on everything! And I worked on enlarging one of the brooders. Plus we moved the playhouse out to turkey town.

YesterdayI had laser eye surgery. Wasn't supposed to be painful.. It was. VERY ..
by 11pm, after 3 tylenol, 2 brandy old fashiond's , ice packs and a bowl of chili, I was able to go to bed and slept until 3AM.
the eye is only mildly sore this morning. at least I can blink it.
My building project is on hold until it warms up again. I suppose I could light a fire in the stove, but it takes a long time to warm up the concrete floor.

Surprised they did it, as it's kind of non-essential.
I'd be afraid to go into a facility and let them mess with my eyes during this pandemic.

Woke up to most everything covered in white...still coming down steadily.
I kind of like it, mesmerizingly beautiful.

I've got to put some up this year, we planted 4 blueberry bushes, 2 early fruiting and 2 late fruiting (I think). Probably won't get much fruit this year but what we get I want!

Confirms my belief that chili cures everything.

Only got down to 44 last night so I'm hoping we're past the low 30s we keep getting. I'm told the cold mornings we've been getting this spring are extremely unusual and playing hob with some of my seedlings. My mistake for taking them out of the greenhouse too soon, but I rolled the dice and figured I could grow more if need be. Wasn't counting on not being able to simply run to the store and get more seeds.

The chicks seem to be doing fine in spite of the cold nights, I admit to nervously checking on them every morning but all seems well. We did go to the feed store yesterday for PDZ, stall sweet, grit, shavings, and feed but they were out of chick feed so we'll have to go back. Got enough feed for now.

Only the 4 chicks right now, but 4 more coming on the 23rd and then there's DP's 8 incubator fruit that should hatch on the 23rd as well. Exciting times ahead!

I finally got the playhouse coop finished and put the chickens in it tonight! Quite excited to see how they like it.

It's like gruondhogday....white all over again this morning.
BroodyMama got 7 fertile egg last night to replace the 5 fakies.
Hope she gets up to eat on her own today.

I have 5 broody turkeys, 2 are outside of the coops. They have windblocks to the n and w which is where the storm is coming from
