have a third surprise grape growing. the pot it is in was bone dry. sat outside all winter. All of these grapes were in pots of soil that I was going to just dump in the garden. It's a good thing I am such a procrastinator..
also pictures of the horses I just made. I should have taken them outside for the photo shoot.
they are stackable, too.

I need to build a couple of those. We have crappy plastic ones.

good morning,
been busy here. I built two saw horses. they look pretty nice.
DD brought me a dozen more roma tomatoes to plant. She brought along 9 self watering pots ,. all I have to do is fill them with dirt and put the plants in them,, I didn't want any more plants. It takes over an hour to water the ones I already have. but my dear wife said, sure, bring them out.
I got six of them planted last night.. Watered them in until after 9PM . the mosquitoes loved that.. I am thinking real hard who I can give the rest of the plants to..
Oh yeah. while DD and BF were here, they ''helped'' me by re taping the leaking pipe.. Now it leaks just about 3 times faster. thanks kids..
Boots, won't the perch eat the gold fish ?
Well, anyway, It was nice of you to think of me..
they always say , the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. seems to work on some women, too. She really is putting the pressure on your chickens with 18-egg cartons..
the shed is really going up fast. looks good..

Thanks, we are working about 5 hours a day. Heat or not!

We got a lot of the plywood on today!

I got the idea from youtube for these horses.they are not exactly like the ones depicted, but similar. strong enough for anything I will set on them.
the ones on you tube supported 15,ooo pounds.
We made 4 of those so far, only one has even legs :). We used the first pair of them for the work bench and had to make another set. A friend made some short ones and used them for the legs of benches and we're thinking of doing the same thing. We want nice sitting benches all over the place.

Cool Beans!
Gotta ask why no roof overhang at the high side......and the angled sides?
There is a roof overhang on the tall side, you just can't see it at that angle. It's just the way the panels fit on the sides, so I put strips of flashing on both sides to keep the water from draining down the sides of the building.
5 days to goats! :wee 🐐🐐🐐

good morning,
Cappy, take it easy in that heat.. I run to the house when it gets to the mid 70's..
today I am putting on my plumber's hat. have to go buy a Watts coupler.
these horses cost me just under $10.oo/each.
including construction screws.
they take five 2x4x8' .. and 48 3 1/8"" construction screws. do not use drywall screws. they are brittle and will break in half.
I am going to add some cleats on the legs to reinforce them and keep the legs from splaying . not that they will, but a little insurance is ok. I will put the cleats at the same height so that I can lie a plank from one to the other for a lower work platform, Or for a bench to rest myself on.
I will make the cleats out of some 1'' red oak that I have plenty of..
One of these doesn't sit square on the floor.
but when I sit on it, it settles down.
If I build another set, I will joint the lumber and plane it ..
my one and only cherry tomato is barely tall enough to reach up to the handle on the 5 gallon bucket it is in. It has two bunches of tomatoes. each bunch has more than 15 tomatoes. I didn't count, just an estimate.
Boots, how was the perch fish fry?
.
