We had 100!° actual temperature here today, and forecast for tomorrow. I wish it would cool down to 80° so I could get something done outside.
Windy loved her milk today, it had a higher proportion of goat milk in it. She sucked that down fast. Goat milk is expensive, but I might as well give it to her before it expires.

Is the goat calming down any ?
We had another round of windy storms .
No damage here, but again to the North and South of us had trees blow over. Some of it due to the saturated ground and the roots just let go.
I thought of a design for a retrofit self waterer for some of the buckets with tomatoes in them. going to make one today and see if it works.
That tiny cherry tomato plant has produced 70 ripe tomatoes and still more green ones to come. I am not much of a tomato eater, but these are like eating cherries.. Sweet and not very acidic ..

I am so jealous of the rain you guys are getting. Not the heat part though.

Processed the the meat rabbits today, first time for DP and I. I did the dispatch and parting out, she did all the stuff in between. Not fun but it went pretty well and we have a 3 lb and a 3.5 lb rabbit in the fridge aging for a couple of days. And I'm poring over recipes and drooling.

I ate lotsa rabbit in my day. but never a tame one.. only cotton tails and snow shoes..
I used to make a stew. boiled the rabbit until the meat easily came off of the bone. deboned the whole rabbit, and then cooked it with veggies and gravy.. yummy..
today I made five retrofit self watering buckets for the tomatoes. I hope they work like they should.. they are my own design.
There is a ripe slicer tomato on the vine. I told Annie to give it one more day..
can't keep up with eating the ripe cherry tomatoes..

Yes, all four will eat out of my hand. Windy came to me to have her bottle today!

I got stung twice today by hornets! Took Benadryl and slept all day. Oh well , it was 100° today!
If they would just be (get it?(yes I know they aren't bees)) about their business and hunt and eat caterpillars and grasshoppers they would be welcome in our garden but their lousy attitude always gets them in trouble.

Cut them in half and dry them, they are an amazing addition to meatloaf or tomato based sauces, you just add them a few minutes before serving in the case of sauces. I've got a ton of tomatoes coming up and the black cherries will be dried. Well, other than the ones we eat immediately or add to green and pasta salads.
