I wish I had some means of storing dry pine straw. We're in the middle of what will be 8 straight days of cold rain and my ladies could use a nice layer of dry pine straw under the picnic pavilion.

They are complaining to me about the weather when I enter the pen to check for eggs.

The great thing about pine straw is that it dries out in just a couple days of sunshine, but I'm not going to get those days until the end of the week.

I should use some of that salvaged, holey metal roof to make them another field shelter. They're digging dustbaths under the feeder in this weather.

Its 48 degrees here. Break in the rain, going back to building.

Much better than trying to sink a pond liner in a bowl full of water, when its sub 40s.

Why would anyone make a pond liner neutrally buoyant, anyways??? Standing in the middle of it, soaked above my knees, with a shovel full of wet dirt, trying to decide which part to try and sink next...

I suppose that they think you'll get the liner in before any water accumulates.

Proving that they don't care about Murphy's Law.

Well, if it hadn't rained almost every day in the past week... Looks like every day but Tuesday in the coming week, as well. **IF** the weatherman is right.

I'm in the middle of 5 days off with my peas purchased for planting and I'm in the middle of 8 days of rain. :(

Tuesday *might* be clear for me too. If the area isn't absolute muck I might be able to get them in then.

Well, the water is supposed to go on top of the liner.
EDMP or....?
Take it out and wait.....you don't want dirt on top of it, do you?
Actually, I do want dirt on top, to start the nitrogen cycle up. but not more than a half inch or so. I bought a 25' x 35' liner, not big enough, but will do for now. Will add additional liners later.

and the in-between material, LLDPE.
