last week we were driving into town side by side with an
electric bicycle. I told Annie, that is what we should get.
for the price of a couple of tanks of gas it would be
paid for.
It was cruising at 30 mph..
Yeah, but not much comfort involved in rain, cold, or snow. Plus the crazy drivers would likely kill you.

Yeah, that's what I think every time I read about how we all ought to bike everywhere we go.

Only from my central NC POV it's the heat that's going to get you.

Can you imagine me biking 14 miles to work on a sticky, 75F morning, spending 8 hours on my feet, then biking 14 miles home in 95F weather?

This and I rarely go anywhere that I don't take and/bring back something too heavy and/or wide to reasonably carry on a bike.

And, no, bike trailers do not solve either - we had a burley when the kids were little; I did quite a lot of things with it but there are very real limits no matter how fit a person is.

I don't think that my twice a month run to the feed store for 100lbs of feed would be very manageable on a bike.
