I have not drank a glass of cows milk since the early 70's, we had goats for a few years and that milk i could tolerate. got rid of the goats in 1978.
have not drank a glass of milk, since.
yesterday I planted carrots in a raised bed. made a
"salt shaker" out of a plastic deli container. put about 1 1/2 cups of corn meal in it. added a whole pkt of carrot seeds. it worked like a charm.
got the tractor, Ollie, fixed. works like new. he is 76 yrs old. haven't received the bill from the fixit guy yet. holding my breathe.
the cat caught red squirrel no.3, that we know of. he dumps the bodies in the garage. he has been here for 2 years, not getting one bit tamer. Annie got a litter box upstairs in the garage, where he hangs out. he is using it. lot better than using the bare floor. i figure he could go outside, but i guess the trip down the stairs is too far for him. lol
today i hoope to get some bib lettuce planted.
64F and looking like it might rain.

the big news here is, the skunk family and the coons have moved along. now a wood chuck has taken their place. in one day he has dug a tunnel along the foundation of the garage. can't allow that,
a trap and trip are on order.
the raised gardens are doing very well.
the second planting of corn has not emerged. not looking good for the home team..

I'm fighting a wood chuck too.
people dump them by me an then they will not go in a trap again.

update on the wildlife zoo
one of the skunks came back at mid day and ate the cat's food. when he saw Annie, he ducked into the wood chuck's hole. i am afraid the wood chuck will destroy my tomatoes. i would like to trap him, but there is the good chance i could catch the skunk instead. all this is taking place right at the small door into the garage. we closed the door. i hope i don't have to sss .
