Hey I just built my coop and I'm just looking for ideas to improve my coop I need material for the nesting box, ventilation ideas and other thing to make chickens live longer and be entertained which I hope gives me more eggs

It appears that there are nesting boxes installed, so I reckon you want information about what to use to line them. I use pine shavings. I also use pine shavings on the floor of the coop.

Depending upon your locale, the heat of summer can be a significant factor in the life of a chicken. The more ventilation you have, the better.

I don't entertain my chickens. They forage all day, so I let them find something to do. Generally, the day consist of eating, resting, dust bathing, eating, resting. Somewhere in the day, they find the time to go lay eggs. Yesterday, they watched a 3 foot black snake slither across the yard, under the coop, and into the neighbor's yard. The snakes help keep the chipmunk population down.

Sometimes, the rooster sneaks up behind my dog to peck him on the rear end. It is quite entertaining, but normally does not end well for the rooster.

Thanks for the info and do the pine shavings on the ground of the coop help clean it
