you should see mating in Dec-Jan and they will start to lay late Jan -thur usually May-June. I began to collect eggs and we ate quite a few at first, then my Muscovy decided she wanted to sit on some they turned out to be infertile, so after that I just collected them but when Missy laid around 51 eggs I decided to leave the rest to see if she would go broody just so she would stop laying, I was beginning to worry about her laying so many. she laid a total of 60 she went broody on the last 9 she laid, but after 12 days I candled and non were any good so I tossed them out she has finally stopped laying and is getting over being broody. We are in east Texas with (usually) very mild winters. I'm not expecting eggs until next spring, but I wasn't sure if they would start mating way before then or not... So they only mate come baby hatching time (i.e. early spring)?
