Helping sex geese

We are in east Texas with (usually) very mild winters. I'm not expecting eggs until next spring, but I wasn't sure if they would start mating way before then or not... So they only mate come baby hatching time (i.e. early spring)?
you should see mating in Dec-Jan and they will start to lay late Jan -thur usually May-June. I began to collect eggs and we ate quite a few at first, then my Muscovy decided she wanted to sit on some they turned out to be infertile, so after that I just collected them but when Missy laid around 51 eggs I decided to leave the rest to see if she would go broody just so she would stop laying, I was beginning to worry about her laying so many. she laid a total of 60 she went broody on the last 9 she laid, but after 12 days I candled and non were any good so I tossed them out she has finally stopped laying and is getting over being broody.

I know this thread is old but I came across it well trying to find the sex of my geese. If I post pics do you think you could help me? They are four months old.

Their Names are Peaches and Apricot.

ok. I read were the gander is a little meaner and will bite, but I hand raised them both and they are the sweetest things. They will eat out of my hand and follow me around. Thank you so much for your help.

8, I was going to say the same thing, also the one with the neck stretched out looks to be talking and ganders do tend to talk a lot and are higher pitched honk than the lower hoonk by the female.
Boys seem to need to mouth off more than the girls. Showing they are great and they are super for their girl friend...
