Hi everyone, my turkey has bumble foot and I have done a lot of research on how to get rid of it but there's one thing I'm not sure of. All of the videos of people removing the scab and dressing the wound are done to a chicken, who is on its back. My turkey is way too big to be able to lay on her back without having difficulty breathing. Is there anyway or a certain position I can put her in that will calm her and make it easier to remove the scab? Thank you

Try turning her on her back on your lap. Let her get good and comfortable before trying anything.

If it was mine, before trying anything else, I would try cutting the toenail nearest the bumblefoot to the quick to get it bleeding slightly.

I had a guinea hen with severe bumblefoot that accidentally ripped off a toenail on the affected foot. She almost immediately started healing. Within a month you couldn't tell she ever had bumble foot.

Sling is used by some for chickens, not sure if that would be helpful.

When my bronze breasted hen had bumblefoot earlier, this very wet summer. I used some old pallets to build an elevated shelter for her to keep her off the ground, away from the elements. I cleaned her foot every day for about a week with some iodine(very low concentration) it cleared it up well just keep the bedding dry and if you can put some Gauze on her foot it will help as well.

There is no such thing as a Bronze Breasted turkey. There are Broad Breasted Bronze turkeys.
