I have a bully hen who keeps mounting my other hens like a rooster would do. I wouldn't care, except she pecks at them viscously and pulls out their feathers as she does it! I didn't get a roo purposely because I didn't want my hens to feel bullied...but now I have this problem hen who has assumed that role. Is this normal? I don't suppose there is anything I can do to break her bully behavior?

Here is a picture of her in the act, just a few minutes ago! She's definitely a hen. She lays a big brown egg.

She even yells as if she's trying to crow.

Hens can become dominant in the absence of a cockbird....'mounting' is not always about sex.
That's what she's doing....and is being overly aggressive about it.

Might want to get rid of her....or give her a timeout in isolation for a week or two to shake up the pecking order.
Lots of variables here.

Did you figure out if this was dried blood?

Number of birds and coop/run size(in feet by feet) is warranted here.
