hen always squats and waddles...but not egg bound?

daily doses of "rooster booster" B-12 stuff from TSC.....no changes to her...still alert, drinks some and eats a little, but not eating as much as I would think she should...

checked a couple more times for a stuck egg but nothing...

starting to think it might be time to cull...the current flock is due for replacement anyway as they are approaching 4 years and egg production has notably dropped this spring...

moved her inside the house...it's amazing what air conditioning does...it's up in the 90's and humid out...she certainly perked up...eats a bit...it more alert...

should have done this on day 1...she has been ill for a week now...

but I fear it will only slow down her decline and prolong the inevitable.......head chop :(

Sorry she is not better, but we recommended given riboflavin (vitamin B2) not B12. Most chicken vitamins for sale at TSC have riboflavin, except for Poultry NutriDrench. Unfortunately, riboflavin deficiency can become permanent if not treated soon after symptoms are seen. Rooster Booster sells Vitamins With Lactobacillus, there are Durvet vitamins, and other brands available. Look for riboflavin on the label. Foods such as chopped beef liver, hamburger, and other shave riboflavin.

sorry...didn't correlate riboflavin specifically with B2....I just read where you specified vitamin B and separately used the term riboflavin. that rooster booster was the only poultry item at TSC that prominently listed vitamin B...guess I should have looked closer to see that it's essentially all B-12 and none of the other B stuff...

this stuff looks more complete but doesn't seem to overtly promote vitamin B...but it's strangely lacking B-12...so what exactly does B-12 do for a chicken then? I'm not a vitamin expert...but if they are selling straight B-12 it must have some purpose?
