Hen cracked egg. Need help!

Ok. He is out. He still has some yolk attached it seems. At least we hope that is the case. There is a small, less than marble sized, fleshy protrusion on his bottom belly part. He is out and wiggling around though. What will happen now? Will he just absorb that thing or will it fall off? Is there some danger of him damaging it and it being fatal? If so, what should we do to help so he doesn’t damage it?

There is some danger with it. Don't put him back under mum Yet, if the yolk had not fully absorbed, the other chicks could rupture the yolk sack.

As far as I know, if it is the yolk sack, it will continue to be absorbed until it's all gone, just keep him warm and dry and let it happen.

Here is a pic of what is attached to him. Is that a yolk sac?

Place him back in the incubator in a cup or bowl lined with a dry paper towel so he can't move. It needs to finish absorbing.
