I have 5-Plymouth Rock hens, A few weeks ago, one started crowing like a rooster. See if I can attach the video for you. Umm, looks like I have to put in on You-tube first?

one of my girls crows in the morning but she is very motherly and yes she is a girl she just a it nuts

Hi- this Seacrest bantam was a sweet girl - called her pretty girl which she responded to most of the time. Occasionally let us hold her. When she turned two she started getting broody and I (believe ) we broke her of that. Laid eggs - cut little pink ones almost every day. We were given an Easter egg egger from a neighbor. Pretty girl apparently got her (beak in a twist) anger up and started crowing and very very aggressive. I also have 2 jersey giants -very sweet girls and pretty picked on them as well. We'll we had to cull but a feral cat got her before our dog could get it out of the yard.
I read it stems from a hormone imbalance and triggers the attitude. Very hard to turn the behavior around in a flock.
