Hen died; blood in sealed coop!? Please help!

What i don't understand is that no new blood was found anywhere in the coop or on the dead chicken the morning we found her. Only what was from the night before.

OK, best theory I can come up with is, she was injured by whoever bled all over the coop the night before, and died of her injuries later. Coincidence is hard to believe.

I wonder if another thread in Predators and Pests would be more fruitful. The people on that forum really know their critters, and I don't. Maybe someone there has experienced something similar.
