What is called an earlobe is the same skin that the combs and wattles are composed of, so there should be no feathers on those areas. They do actually get some feathers covering the actual ear holes, and some birds have muffs, cheek feathers, but it's not normal for things to grow at that age that weren't there before. And it's normal for them to molt and regrow all the head feathers. Not sure if I answered your question. A picture always helps.
