So my crazyish hen was eating wood chips the other day. Wood shavings. Biggish ones. I've read that can impact her crop. Is this just normal once-in-a-while being dumb behavior?

So dumb, right? I figured they'd eat pellets, so I got shavings. I couldn't believe it when i saw her pick up a big chip and swallow it. And then do it again! She was hungry, but that was my fault. She was being a bully and i stuck her in another run without food and forgot. She was there a little longer than i meant to leave her. I picked her up and put her by her food and she went to town on it. Shes got lots of little gravel outsideMine did the same thing this morning.
Pecked a hole in a bag of wood pellets.
They were munching away like it was very tasty when I came out.

I trust them with any plants, they seem to know what's toxic and what isn't.
