You'll have that.. I have 3 county fairs coming up I going to have birds at. The first one is in 2 weeks.. ( Stark, Wane and I think the other is Ashland ) I would have to look to see. Well the wife knows she does all the papper work..
I have my roosters (sebrights) at the other farm right now away from the australorps , they were starting to be rough on the hens as they will. . they are of that age -- pretty frisky. The sebright hens are up here because 2 of them are going out on loan to a breeding farm december to make themselves at home, and will be back in june for fall shows. I would love to see this cross.
Lot of these people are very good at advanced genetics, Im only good at bad comb to bad comb = bad comb and white in supposed to be black feathers will probably = more white in feathers. stay away from dqs ect...and all good egg layers should be bred (husband stresses).
I would think that the henny tail would be dominant, the birds have been so inbed for so long. Wouldnt it? Thou you could come up with almost any concoction. It sure would be interesting to see. Can you imagine an australorps sized sebright?
Some of the baby sebright always reminded me of heads on legs thier backs are so short they can barley balance themselves unlike the others that are running around in no time.
I am anxious to see how it will turn out. As of now, judging just from the comb and wattles alone, I'm thinking rooster, but the father (sebright) has pretty big comb and wattles too so I'm not sure if it just inherited those from him. Here's a couple pics of the little guy. These are the best I got. He wouldn't stop moving
definitely Sebright blood in him. He (why do I keep saying he?) is also a VERY good flier at this stage. Imagine, a hen-feathered Australorp
Ha! 'Cause that's what the world needs, more roosters that look like hens
He/she is 4 weeks old in the pics and will be five weeks in a couple days.
