I never got into a natural wormer so I do not know what to tell you----I worm mine with fenbendazole, works great.

To post pictures, upload a file. To worm chickens, give them a dose of garlic water. It's not poisonous, but they like the taste about as much as you might, so giving them nothing but garlic water for a day will stress them out, but they'll be wormed at the end of it. I'd dilute it to 1:20 if you want to do that, though.

For you sick hen--give her a pipette, be patient, and administer it about a drop at a time using a medicine dropper or a pipette. Unfortunately, you really can't 'drench' a chicken without half-drowning the poor thing. So this will take a while.

From the Condition you described your chicken----if I had one in that condition---I would already have her wormed as soon as I felt how light she was. If I just found out----I would worm her before I pillared my head tonight, But if you don't have wormer----and want some you will have to get it when the store opens in the Morning.

I would not rely on a "natural" cure at this time.
Worm medicine is not the same as injecting your chicken with hormones.

You can buy a paste and give it to your chicken in her mouth or worms...worms live inside of the chicken.

Mites and lice live outside of the chicken...you may want to look for those bugs too.

Can you post some photos of your hen?
What type of food/treats do you feed?
How old is she?

Do you have a vet that can see her? Taking a poop sample to your vet for testing would be best.

You mention that she weighs less than a pound? Weight loss can be caused by a number of things, but if this is a mature large fowl Wyandotte, she would be severely underweight. Worms, external parasites, cancer, tumors and diseases can all cause weight loss.

First and foremost - get her hydrated. Offer some poultry vitamins in her water. See that she is drinking well, then give her some extra protein like egg or tuna in addition to her normal feed.

Worming may not be a bad idea, but it can be harsh on the system, so you need to some research/reading before administering any type of medication and/or treatment and be informed about any risks you may be taking.

Since she is underweight - you need to weigh her to get the correct dosage. Most feed stores like Tractor Supply carry Fenbendazole (Safeguard, Panacur). Dosage is 1/4 ml per pound for 5 days in a row.

As previously mentioned. Check her over for any lice/mites - look around the vent and under the wings for any crawling critters. If you see any, treat her with a permethrin based poultry spray or dust (these can be found at your feed store). Follow the directions on the product you purchase.

Again, I recommend that you consult a vet to assist you.

Well, she is a very hardy breed and normally weighs about 4-5 pounds, so defanintaly something wrong . I will post a pic around 10 most likely but if I can't find out how than I will tell u I can't. I have something called diatomaceous earth that is used to kill them, or at least is suppose to

The pics won't upload. Sadly I found her this morning leaned over not moving with flys everywhere.

When I picked her up to go burry her she opens her eyes and moved some. I tried to hand feed her because when I felt her crop it was complete empty, I am sitting here with her and he keeps drifting off. I think it's to late
