Hen found dead in the morning. Internal Laying?

One of my hens was acting lethargic yesterday. She was standing in the coop all fluffed up and had labored breathing. She would drink water but wouldn't eat and her poops were runny and yellow. Checked if she was egg bound but nothing. Separated her and this morning she had passed.

I decided to do a necropsy and i found what i believe to be egg yolk in her abdomen? Is this internal laying? if it is can it be prevented?

It sounds like she may have had salpingitis and egg yolk peritonitis. The yellow masses could be lash egg material. That can be laid or passedinto the abdominal cavity. It is very common in hens unfortunately. If you took any pictures of the necropsy, we can make suggestions or amateur guesses. Sorry for your loss. Here is some info on salpingitis:

Thank you, I did take one pic of the yellow stuff. Is it more common in terms of genetics? Or just age? She was only 15 months old.
