Buttercups leg hasn’t been getting better. There’s a huge hard bump on her hock joint no redness. Shes eating and drinking but I think she’s been drinking more than usual and eating lots but yet she’s losing weight. Her comb is a bit bent and purple. I gave her half a baby aspirin and also glucosamine msm. I’m not sure what else to do please help. She’s 5 years old and there’s no vet here. I’m really worried about her. Thank you!

I'm sorry to hear about the arthritis, you may find the article below helpful.

Losing weight is concerning. If possible, take a sample of her poop to your vet for a fecal float to see if worms are part of the problem.

I did some more research and it’s not Artritis. It’s bacterial infection called mycoplasma sinusitis and that there’s no cure for it. I can get tylan but I don’t have a vet prescription for it. Do you know another remedy?

It may be MS. Are both joints affected?

You can try Tylosin to see if it makes any difference. Tylosin powder can usually be ordered online through Jedd's.

She has clear bubbly water coming out one eye and only one joint affected. I can’t access tylosin as you need prescription in Canada

Is vet care an option?

If you have pigeon or falconry supply stores, you may be able to find Tylosin at one of those without a script.

Bubbles in the eye can sometimes indicate respiratory infection. Clean/flush the eye with saline and put ointment in the eye. If you have Original Neosporin, you can use that in the eye or if possible get some Terramycin eye ointment.

But having an antibiotic would also be helpful too.

I don’t have a vet or a pigeon supply store as nobody really has them as pets. I have polysporin?
