Hen hatching guinea egg questions

I've never used a hen to hatch other species, but a friend came me a dozen and a half guinea eggs to put under a broody hen that I have. I know I've read on here where other folks have. When they hatch will the hen raise them, or will I need to seperate them? Do I need to be concerned the last week. I know that a check hatches at 21 days, but a guinea hatches at 27, do I need to worry about the hen leaving the nest, or cracking the eggs to check for viability after 23 days, or so?

I know this is how lots of guinea owners hatch their eggs, so I know it will work, but I don't want to make any mistakes. I really need these guines. We garden organically and guineas make the best buggers without causing much damage to plants.
