I have a silkie chicken that is around three years old (four in January). This past month she has had trouble breathing; the side of her neck expands/inflates when she breathes. She used to be super active but now seems to fall asleep constantly and is always sitting down. Her appetite has also decreased. If you get close to her, you can hear a crackling noise when she is breathing. When I opened her mouth to examine it, I noticed a weird white or yellow ball there. She also used to have a really bad smell coming from her mouth. The vet gave us antibiotics which has helped with her symptoms but not cured her (her bad breath is gone and she is now slightly more active and seems to be eating well again). Does anyone know what this could possibly be and if there is anything I could give her to help her recover? We were told to give the antibiotics for 10 days only which have passed :/
