Just in case it's external parasites: I bought some chickens once that had signs of mites with crusty white lumps of stuff stuck to their feathers on backside. I got rid of the problem with some non-toxic food grade DE (diatomaceous earth) that I dusted their bottoms with (put some in a dried, cleaned out dish soap container that would throw out dust when squeezed). Also, I keep a bin/tray out for the chickens to dust bath daily in, containing: wood ash, some DE & sand. Just be careful that you don't breathe it in & don't intentionally poof it in their faces. Best wishes.Ok I’ll bring her back in and observe her longer. I know for sure there’s no bubbles or discharge from her nose (although I do hear a bit of sneezing). I checked a bunch of spots yesterday for mites and was - but I will recheck to be sure and check out her ears. Is sevin dust ok to use instead of permethrin? Our local stores carry almost nothing that anyone hear recommends. Thanks for all your suggestions
I’m gonna do this tomorrow. I have a big bag. I actually bought a reusable ketchup bottle today so hopefully that will work. I have a large pan with sand and dirt for them to bath in - I forgot that I can add some to there as well.Just in case it's external parasites: I bought some chickens once that had signs of mites with crusty white lumps of stuff stuck to their feathers on backside.
