My beloved hen Daisy is not her normal self. She is very docile, sluggish and she is keeping to herself. I thought she might've been egg bound, but I felt her and tried to massage the egg out, and nothing came out. She's been this way for a couple of days, but I thought she'd be feeling better even if she was egg bound, because she'd lay the egg. Today, I was getting really worried about her and I felt her crop. It feels oversized and squishy, almost like it's full of air. I kept an eye on her and she's eating, drinking and poos normally. What could be wrong with my girl?

Any advice is appriciated.
Thanks!

One of my hens became very sluggish, just laid around and her comb was very pale and floppy. She was eating and drinking and pooping normal...no signs of eggbound or crop issues, gave antibiotic in H2O for 5 days and fed her a mixture of yogurt, honey, egg yolk, oatmeal and grated apple as reccommended by someone here. She perked up some after a couple of days. Still didn't know what was going on so I did the warm soak in case she was eggbound. That was 2 wks ago, she still has a floppy comb but the color is better and she is laying eggs and moving around almost back to normal...so...I don't have an answer for you but thought I'd tell you what I did.

Thanks! May I ask, what anibiotic did you give? Also, here are some pictures from yesterday. Normally her comb sticks straight up.

not sure what it was...got it from a friend but you put it in their water...my hens tail was also droopy, yours looks like it's upright. If I were you I would try the yogurt mixture, it helps regulate their system.

Here's the Recipe for the yogurt diet

1 cooked egg yolk, crumbled
1 tsp honey
2 T Plain yogurt
2-4 T oatmeal or enough to make the mixture crumbly
2 T grated apple

after a couple of days I started mixing in layer feed and backed off of the yogurt gradually. Warning: My girls LOVED it and would rush me for it! I had to seperate the sick hen to make sure she got it.
