This started yesterday but she began acting different around 2-3 days ago, in the beginning she was still eating and hanging around the flock but until recently she’s just started hiding under bushes and hiding away from the flock, with foamy bubbles coming from her eyes and her just sitting there not walking or standing. Unfortunately she’s also dealing with a respiratory issue right now that we are trying to deal with but I would also like some more tips on how to deal with a respiratory illness. But the sitting still and foamy eyes part I don’t have any explanation for. I’m going to estimate and say she is around 3 years old. I would like an idea of what is going on with her right now. For right now we are just seperating her from the flock and frequently hand feeding and giving her water frequently

What symptoms make you think she's dealing with a respiratory illness?

What have you been doing to treat this?

Antibiotic? Which one?

Are there other birds with these symptoms?

What is your location and what has your weather been like?

Have you brought nay new chickens into your flock?

When she breathes it sounds like it’s with mucus, she sneezes from time to time as well. She’s been like that for a while and it hadn’t really affected her significantly until recently with this new Illness. I can’t really do much to treat it right now but all I’ve done is separate her from the flock and given her food and water. I haven’t given her an antibiotic but I’ve ordered it, it’s called “ Morning bird enrotex broad spectrum antibiotic bird supplement” and will give to her as soon as it gets here. The other birds have not shown these symptoms nor are they sick. I live in the southeast us and recently it’s gotten below 32 F at night. I wanted to bring her inside the house in a little box but my parents wouldn’t let me. We haven’t gotten any new chickens recently. I forgot to add that now she really can’t walk and Im now suspecting Malik’s disease or some type of illness that’s affecting her ability to walk and I don’t know much to do about it.

I forgot to add about her ability to stand, it’s not too severe where she can’t stand/move at all, but she can still adjust her self or move in tiny distances, but in general she just move from her spot.

Yes it looks like mycoplasma or MG. The substance in her eyes is a sticky discharge that will seal her eyes shut in the morning. You will probably have to help her by cleaning her eyes for her with a wet towel in the mornings.

I recently had really good results treating mycoplasma with lidocaine eyedrops and antibiotics baytril (enrofloxin) + tylosin. I have not had good results from tylosin alone.

It cleared it up in two days, but there was also a coryza infection that followed which is a longer term illness. Your respiratory infection may be coryza too. Here are the medicines i used, but they may not be the same in the usa.

If you can't find medicine, it can take weeks for this to clear, but it does clear on its own eventually, but may also spread through contact with others. Look for baytril in the usa. And tilosin. Lidocaine drops probably nees prescription.

Looks like she has a scab on her eye. Can you get a better photo of the eyes? Are both affected/the same?

Flush and clean the eyes with saline, open the eye, remove any pus/debris or bubbles from they eye and apply an eye ointment like Terramycin or if you can't get that, Original Neosporin can be applied in the eye and a little on the surrounding tissue/scab.

Check her crop to make sure it's emptying completely overnight. If it isn't then begin treating the crop issue using this article as a guideline for care https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...w-to-know-which-one-youre-dealing-with.73607/

She's 3 years old. When is the last time she laid an egg? Feel her abdomen below the vent between her legs - is there any feeling of bloat or fluid?

Photos of her overnight poop would be good.

Work on hydrating her. If her eyes have been closed and she's isolating herself, she's probably not been drinking. Once the eyes are cleaned, she may have more desire to drink on her own, but if you need to, syringe fluids into her.

Could be MG, if it is, then the enro should take care of the symptoms, but the eyes still need tending.
