Hi all! So I’ve got a 2-year-old (almost 3-year-old) Partridge Olive Egger hen named Jennie. I let them all out into their pen this morning and collected an egg that was in their nesting box from my Golden Laced Wyandotte, Poppy. When I went back out to bring them in for the night, I saw two green eggs in the box. Jennie is the only hen that lays green eggs so it must have been her. And earlier that morning, there hadn’t been any green eggs in the box. So that makes me think that she must’ve laid both eggs within the span of one day. They’re usually outside for about 12 hours. I know that it takes 24-26 hours for an egg to be formed in the hen, so I was flabbergasted. Both eggs are hard-shelled, the same size, and look totally normal. Jennie seems her usual self. Should I be concerned? Like is that even possible? And if it is, is it indicative of something awry? Thanks in advance for any replies!
