Hen laying abnormal/weird eggs

My 8.5 year old hen is laying an egg every other day, but she stays in her nest for many hours before she lays. Her eggs were coming out ok for the past month, but yesterday she laid a weird egg with poo on it. I have some tomoxifin, which can help her stop laying, should I give it to her? If you are familiar with this condition, what else do you recommend? @Wyorp Rock

It’s just a calcium deposit and not anything concerning if it happens every once in a while.

I agree, it looks like a calcium deposit, eggs can have some odd features at times. Likely this is a glitch.

Take a sample of her poop to your vet for a fecal float to see if she needs deworming.

I would not give her any medication that would stop production.

Thank you very much for telling me it's a glitch, I didnt want to give her the tomoxifin because she was laying so well, even if she sits on the nest for a long time. I will deworm her with DE, and get the goat dewormer from amazon. It wouldnt hurt because it's been a long time since she was wormed. She shakes her head sometimes, so it might be worms. If she doesn't get better soon I will take her to the vet.
