Hen laying smaller eggs...why?

And it is time for a molt. I have had hens that were picked on grow feathers back even when not in a molt though-I wouldn't count on that happening to often though.

How long does the "pullet egg stage" last?

I'm really looking forward to some larger eggs.

All eight that I've gotten in the past 8 days have all been tiny.

I found a new treat today that my hens just LOVE! Uncooked corn tortillas.

When I go out back now, they just come running... I'm such a chick magnet.

I believe it depends on your pullets but, can last up to 2-3 months. I can't remember how long my girls pullet egg stage lasted as I was just so happy to get the eggs! My EE girl is my newest layer and she is laying medium sized eggs and has been laying about 3 weeks now.

After picking up some of the girls last night and looking through their feathers, it's amazing that I'm still getting 7 eggs a day from 10 layers! Some of them really are full of quills!
