Hen lethargic, not eating or drinking

Our hen, Blanche, hasn’t been the same since a mink attack a few months back. We treated the bite but her demeanor completely changed. She was top hen before and kept our rooster away from her but afterwards she was last in the pecking order and our rooster had his way with her to the point of causing feather damage. We removed her from the coop and kept her in the chicken tractor. Her tail dropped but she was still eating and laying. This lasted about a month then she stopped laying. She hasn’t laid an egg in probably 3 weeks. But she did continue to eat and drink.
Yesterday, she stopped eating or drinking. She just stands in one spot and closes her eyes. I’ve given her a mix of ACV, Poultry Cell and water with a syringe. I offered her pellets, greens, and dried bugs but she doesn’t want it and she spits it out. Her comb is floppier than usual and her poop looks yellow and is egg white consistency. She hasnt laid eggs in weeks now, so I don’t think she’s egg bound. She’s so sad looking and seems to be deteriorating. We can’t afford the vet. Any home remedy suggestions?

I would continue to work on getting fluids into her.

Hard to know exactly what's going on with her, but if she's not been laying eggs and going by what her poop looks like, I would suspect she has a reproductive disorder. Whether EYP, Internal Laying, Cancer or something else, no one would know unless a necropsy is performed if you lose her.

I would get her on an oral antibiotic as well. Amoxicillin (Fish Mox) would be a good choice. Dose is 57mg per pound of weight given orally twice a day for 10-14 days.

Do see that her crop is emptying, if it's not, let us know. While you are tending to her, looks for lice/mites since those can become a problem when a hen is not well.

Thank you. i couldn’t find FishMox but did find AquaMox which looks like it’s the same. I purchased the 250mg. How do I administer it? Blanche weighs about 3lbs. Can i mix it in the water? Should I treat the whole Flock? They all seem fine. Thank you again for your help.

I already checked her for mites it other critters and she’s clean. I checked her crop yesterday and it was empty. Today it was a bit mushy. I’ll check her again tomorrow.

Oh and her poop, while still raw egg consistency had some black solid mass in it today.

Since you found 250mg capsules, I would just give her one of those twice a day.
Just pop the capsule into her beak and let her swallow.

I would not treat the whole flock.

Check the crop first thing before she eats/drinks.

If you can, get some photos of her overnight droppings.

I gave her some Greek yogurt last night and this was her poop today. The crop feels mushy. I also had to clean her feathers today. She had very smelly poop stuck to them

She is eating on her own. (Very little) and drinking. I’m still giving her Greek yogurt and ACV/garlic water. Still hoping she gets better.

Well. She’s still alive. Seems to be getting stronger. She’s eating and drinking very little but is roosting at night. Before she couldn’t get up. No eggs and still tired and pale. Do t know what wrong but I’ll keep taking care of her hoping she improves.
