No pictures, as I don't think needed. 1- year old hen stopped laying eggs and started limping with one foot. No wounds, no bumblefoot, absolutely nothing external or visible. She got worse to the point where she hasn't been out for two days now. She is eating, but not drinking water at all (?) I did a lab test of her poops/stools and it showed nothing unusual. She has no other symptoms from what I see (I have moved her inside on a shelf). I give her calcium+phosphorus vitamins + green lip muscles (my mother uses this for joints).
My question is - what kind of test do I do next? Blood test - will it somehow help me?

Hi. Is she possibly egg bound and that is why she has stopped laying? Or is she getting ready to molt or going through a particularly hard molt, hence why she is staying in the coop/not moving much/eating-drinking less? As for the limp, she may have sprained her leg/foot when getting off a roost, or jumping down from a log, or something like that.

I have a ~3-year old Buff Orpington that has had a limp for almost a year now (no visible injuries or bumblefoot, etc.) so I think she just sprained her leg/foot one day and it never healed up properly. She is my slow-and-steady-wins-the-race chicken now : ) She is also going through a particularly hard molt this year and has been staying in the coop most of the day and is eating/drinking less.

Just my initial thoughts!
