Hen not eating/drinking, has worms in her smelly poop - help!

Just so I know for future reference, do you call offal something else in the USA.... I try to use terms that posters will understand whenever possible, so it would be helpful to know the term you use for organ meat. For instance, here in the UK we would call ground meat, mince.... but I know you guys call it ground meat. And I have to be very careful not to use the UK equivalent of butt (bum) as I believe it means something slightly different in The States. ..... we are as they say, two nations divided by a common language!

That’s pretty funny. I would think organ meat would work. I had never herd the term offal before but maybe I just don’t get out and about enough. Great thing is you just learn something every day.

So pleased she is feeling a bit better. You have done a great job. She looks very "busty" or chesty in the photo

Thanks for the kind compliment! I thought the same thing about her chest when I looked at the pic but I attributed it to her just having been bathed and not dried as thoroughly as usual since I was putting her outside on a warm day. She was kind of "puffed out" like she gets on the roost during the wintertime.

She had a good night in the coop - came in to be kenneled under a cover (to suppress ovulation) for most of the day today - and she is back out with the flock now. Prolapse has stayed in and no "scrambled egg" type droppings have been seen for well over 24 hours. The flystrike wound seems to be healing. No flies or maggots around it.

Fingers crossed. I have to go out of town for 5 days but my husband will be on the case for all but the last couple of days (when he joins me). Cleo's quality of life right now is good and I'm hoping she'll still be doing okay when I come home next weekend. A neighbor will look in on her the very last part of my absence. I'll update here one way or the other in hopes our experience can help someone else.
