Thanks for your condolences. We originally had four Americanas. One turned out to be a rooster. And we didn't know what to do because he started pecking on the hens.
We gave him away to the feed store but the next day decided to get him back because there are ways to deal with it. Unfortunately someone picked him up the night before closing along with two others.
One hen got attacked and killed by a fox when free roaming. Another we found dead in the coop in the morning. And now she the fourth might be dead.
Each time one died we added some new ones. So we still have four, but four are gone.
