Hen-on-nest dishes

Ive just started collecting these, and I just like the pretty colors. thanks for posting pics everyone, they are fun to look at!
my house is getting kinda chickeny....Ill post some pics too if anyone wants to see my old chicken figurines...

I just love those pictures!I just recently inherited my MIL's chicken collection. Its mostly newer roosters. But there are 4 of the hen-on-nest dishes, one is a rooster.I'm sure 2 belonged to her mother.I'll get some pics up when we get around to setting them up.Kinda waiting for a better time.Anyhoo,my favorite chicken pieces are 2 I found in a dump behind a barn.Just a pile of garbage mostly.I had to clean it up so the horses couldn't step in it.I was just a fussing while I shoveled up glass and stuff, why would anybody just throw garbage in a ditch?

And then I spotted this little tiny rooster.I picked it out and wow I was tickled.

And then I thought I wonder if he had a mate?About a foot away there she was.

: ya The rooster is about 1 and 3/4 inch tall. The hen alittle less than that.I call them my "God given" chickens. They just happen the be where I would find them and I love them so much!

I even like the painted egg in that ad........fantastic! Everytime I find a chicken anything that I like, my daughter just shakes her head. I have a few pieces for my kitchen: tea towel, hot pad, a metal rooster swag, salt and pepper shakers, a little hen. Now I see some of this other stuff, and I think to myself: "I'm gonna need a bigger house".

were they in stock where you live? I got the book on valuing hen on nests, its very good. Wish I had it before I bought an overpriced knockoff on Ebay...but its pretty anyway!
