My Mom is giving me greef because my Henry hasn't crowed yet at 14 weeks old, she says he is a hen. He doesn't have a role model so I think it is just a waiting game. What do you think, Henry (top pic) or hen (one of his girls for comparison, bottom pic)?
Thanks!

No waiting needed-that's Henrietta, for sure!

****OOPS! I was looking at that second pic, thinking for some reason that was the same bird. The second one is a hen, the first one could go either way at that age, but usually by 14 weeks, RIR roos have a larger comb than that. Hens' combs vary around that time. Mine did.
For comparison, this shows one of my own hens at about 15 weeks old-and she is over a year and a half old now, so yep, definitely a hen. :

I guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer. Henry has looked different from everyone else since 6 weeks old, and acts a bit differently. I was pretty convinced but now I really don't know either! Thanks for the feedback.
