14 week (?) mixed breed chick. Bought this baby from a local breeder (along with her broody mother which was quite a score since I needed a broody!). Thought it must be a little roo due to the attitude, but now realize there are no waddles and the tail looks like a hen (plus the bird screams and is terrified of everything which isn't very roo-like).

Side note -- As soon as I managed to buy a broody one of my older bantam hens went broody within a week and has since had 3 male chicks. Going to crate a side "boys only" pen and am really hoping this bird is a hen so I don't have to integrate them in with the tiny banty roos. Need fresh eyes. Hen or roo?

I think roo. Easter eggers don't get waddles, that bird looks like it may be an EE cross. (I'm not an expert though!)

I think boy as well, based on colouring, comb, and suspicious looking saddle feathers. My EE cockerel is also scared of everything and screams like a banshee. xD
Thanks. Sigh. Guess I need to get to work on the rooster pen as I want to integrate them before the hormones kick in. Think he can get along with tiny banty roos if there are no hens to compete for? I think the bird is a real beauty regardless of the gender.

My guy is living with a sebright cockerel and an unknown gendered silkie. They get along just fine, even with the huge difference in size, but each individual is going to be different. Mine is at the bottom of the pecking order in that group so he minds his own business.
