Hen or Roo and Age guess??

This my supposedly 4 1/2 week old roo
The local farm we got him from wasn't 100% honest with me when buying him,
So I am questioning age and gender?
Any ideas?? Breed is Mraran mix

4 1/2 weeks or slightly younger looks about right for age.

As for gender, it's still very early. That being said, we'd have a better idea if the comb and wattles were visible.

Nothing screaming cockerel as of now, but another few weeks will be telling. It's very cute.

Got pretty big feet so that points in the direction he's a boy. Age does look pretty right too.
What wern't they honest about, just out of nosiness.

They put him in with the 3 week olds, and didn't tell me that he was sick.

Well that is definitly not good! What is wrong with him? OK, I read about him poor guy but you got some good advice about the buttermilk. It takes a while but it does help.

I'm going to go with cockerel. I was going to ask as well if he was the runt or if there was possible illness showing or if he was just camera shy. So sorry they slipped a sick chick in with the bunch

On a side note, are those eggs quilted on to the bed spread behind him?

Definitely a cockerel big feet and I can tell the way the body is shaped.

Actually he has a respiratory infection and coccidiosis......... No just a quilt Lol!
