Ok, they let me exchange the chick for another one. I am getting them from Sumner-Byrd Farm and they are so nice! They showed me how the feathers on the wings are different for a hen and a roo. I didn't know that. They swear that they are pure Ameraucana but I don't care. As long as they are healthy and lay pretty eggs for me I am happy

Thank you all again for the speedy help with my question, I love this place!!!

only on certain breeds,,, the wing feathers start off fluffy and that way all the way, girl, starts with "little sticks" then fluffs, boy. but this has to be done in a day,, or it dont work. me,, ive never tried to keep track to see if it works lol.

They spread out the wing. On a female all the feathers were the same length. On the Male the first 3 are different, longer or shorter. Sorry, I don't remember. But the firs few are not the same length.

yeah, most people think they have pure ameraucana because the hatcheries they got them from sold them as such. The EE's are still great pets

I have found that I have an EE that lays more BLUE eggs than some Ameraucanas. Surprised me.
