The very unique feathering patterns does complicate this, but the way he stands makes me firmly think a cockerel.

Also, at 5 months, just checking for eggs might be enough.

The comb appears pale and narrow, but the tail looks like streamers are growing. At first glance, I would think a boy. At second glance, a direct photo of the face would help with viewing the comb.

I bought 2 no-crow collars (the actual brand name) in medium for my silkie satin roos. I've owned them in the suburbs for over 1 year without any noise issues.
