I've never had a problem with integration. My flock is pretty laid back, but still, I've also let mamas raise their babies with the flock. Even the bantams have done so. When I've raised chicks myself, I've done so inside the run. By 4 weeks mine have always been mixed in with the big flock.
Like @DobieLover advises, I have plenty of room and plenty of roost space. I also keep plenty of waterers and feeders and whenever I'm introducing newbies, I make sure to add extras.

I am planning on changing up the big coop to accommodate. It's a 5x6 wooden playhouse conversion. I have a platform by a window and 3 2x4's as roosting bars at different levels. I want to adjust so that my old birds can be comfortable, 1 with deformed feet and one heavy girl with some sort of splayed toes. They need easy access but still go as high as they can. Can easily accommodate 18 standard chickens but I want to make it even more comfortable. The run is 32' x 12', slimming down to 8' in the last 8'. They have roots, rocks, covered areas, etc... I closed of the last 8x8 area for broody hen and the chicks. When the older flock goes out to free range, I let the chicks have full use of the run. Occasionally, I let them free range as well. No real issues after Mama hen put another hen in her place.🧐 That was interesting. Any suggestions on revamping the 5 x 6 coop to accommodate all 16 chickens?

If you can post some pictures or a rough scetch (with measurements) of your setup maybe we can come up with some low cost ideas to expand their housing.

Really what else could I do. The owner sold the house and said new owner wanted the chickens. She left and 2 weeks later he moved in and said I didn't know there would be chickens. In the first week he lost 2 of them one from neglect, in my opinion. I said I would take them and got busy fast creating a chicken world. They seemed to trust me and made the move easily. They were not the kind you touch but they let me. Probably because I have always been the one to sneak greens and fruit over to them. Plus, I tried to clean their coops to the best of my ability. They lived in absolute squalor. They seem happy, sit by me, enjoy free ranging and enjoy me cleaning coop and run daily. Really lovely girls! So when one became broody, I couldn't refuse and got her some eggs. I really enjoy them.

Maybe. My naked necks have always pinked up early but at 6 weeks you probably do have a cockerel. Beautiful colors!
 
Thanks for improving the lives of these chickens! It's nice it sounds like you really want the best for them!

If you are really interested in getting some more advice on expanding their coop, I would post some pictures and dimensions in the Coop Design Construction and Maintenance Forum.

Your naked neck (probably cockerel) is very pretty! I like his colors a lot. Your other chicks are cute, too.
