its a barred rock and ive been told it was a hen when it was younger. i noticed a slight difference between it and my other 2 barred rocks but now its alot, my roo began aggressively mounting her about a week ago, or so i thought, i now believe him to just be attacking her? today when i came home i thought it saw her mounting a hen or just attacking?the older roo treats it differently then the other hen and chases it when it comes to get food, trying to mount it, or defending? its comb is much bigger than the hens and its composure seems different also. recently, ive been hearing alot of crowing in the mornings, and i think it might be this chicken because my roo rarely crows adnlittle if at all, this has been alot. could my roo just be smelling the chickens hormones and wanaggressivily mount her and crow alot? help! thanks

if this is the picture of the hen i hate to tell you this is absolutely a rooster and a very nice looking one to and the other rooster isn't mounting him hes showing dominance and telling this one hes the boss and hes attacking him cause hes the top chicken on the block

It looks like a roo compared to this.

it took me a while to figure out the difference i actually owned both type when i first started raising chickens and had no idea they were two different breeds until my friend told me which ones were witch. but i do like doms better they are more docile and to me look alot better

also, quick opinion, if hes a rooster, should i keep him, or my older, full grown red sex link rooster, this one was raised with the hens i have now, the sex link was not, but ive had no problems till now. which one might produce better chicks, or be less aggressive??tips welcome!

If you keep both roosters, they may fight, so I would keep the one that the hens seem to like more.
