I’m crushed I’m not the type that gives up and the collar thing stresses me.

The collar works by choking when they try to crow. A very poor option in my view.

I know it is hard when you've raised them, but unexpected cockerels are unfortunately something most of us who keep poultry have to deal with. Your best bet is to start looking for a good home for any males.
