I bought 4 chicks from Murray McMurray (through a friend). Two are supposed to be French Black Copper Marans. Can you tell me if this one is a hen or a rooster? Her name is Big Momma. Please tell me she’s a hen and if she is a BCM?

Edited to add: hatch date is approx February 9th - approximately 5.5 weeks old

How old? Depending on age that comb is kinda big, but I have a hen -black Australorp, that had a huge comb. Hopefully someone who knows BCM can chime in
She’s 5-1/2 weeks old. Hatch date was around February 9th. I have a hen with a large comb, too. Hoping she’s a she. I already have a rooster.

With those feathered legs it is hard to tell how thick the legs are. Thick legs often is a clue it could be a boy. At 5-1/2 weeks that comb is still pale but the size indicates it could be a boy. It's upright posture also points to a boy. You notice how the others are kind of bent over.

These are all clues to what it "might be" not a definite "is" but I'd give it a 90% chance of being a boy. Sorry.
