They only got scratch in the evenings in the winter just before being locked up for the night. I would throw out a couple of handfuls for 10 chickens (9 hens (now 8), 1 roo). Since this girl got sick, I've quit giving any to the remaining birds. Just wanted to add, I'm not in particularly cold climate (I split my time between southern Arizona and central Texas), so the scratch was more of a treat on colder nights and to encourage them to go in to roost.You feed scratch too?
