This morning I woke up to find that my SLW had her rose comb pecked at w/ dry blood, not a lot, and my Deleware had some on her beak and tail feathers. I am assuming my Deleware did the damage and the blood on her is the evidence......I can't though think of a reason they would be doing this. The only thing that comes to mind is that I have one nesting box, and if one was on it , and the other had to go, would the Deleware ( who is the aggresor in general ) peck her to get off?

Thanks,
Stephanie

It's pretty funny sometimes how the women have a hard time getting along. Mine will give each other a good peck or two just to make sure the pecking order is truly in the correct order. It can be a ongoing process with someone who would like to move up a notch. If it isn't a real serious injury, I would say it is normal chicken behavior. Keeping a close eye on the flock is always good management and a learning experience for everyone. Best Wishes.
