Hello,
I think I figured out my hen has a pendulous crop. Her bra should be here tomorrow but I could use some help.
She is sounds really raspy. I believe she inhaled some "sourness". I have NOT made her puke. But she does on her own. She is also pretty miserable looking hunched up and eyes half closed. She still is in good spirits pecking at my fingernails.
2 weeks ago I treated her for sour crop with an over the counter anti fungal twice a day for 7 days. Keeping her isolated feeding her only eggs and water with garlic and/or ACV. I thought we were in the clear but she immediately had a sour crop after returning to the coop. She has low muscle tone and I believe a saggy crop. She was able to empty her crop during treatment and also after 24 hours of the initial keeping food and water from her. It has never seemed impacted.
She looked pretty miserably returning from a Labor Day getaway. Hunched up and slightly eyes closed. I have her isolated again in a dark room where I noticed she sounds terrible and fluid in lungs. She has no food or water and I gave her another anti fungal to tie her over.
I have not made her puke in fear she will inhale or I will kill her.
Her bra comes tomorrow.
What else can I do for her? Anything for her lungs? Vet is not an option.
