Hen started crowing.

Year and a half old Polish has started trying to crow.
Its defantly a hen since it lays eggs and Iv hatched a few of its eggs.
It does it in the morning when it starts getting light, Or if you make a crow sound your self or when the rooster makes one.

Its getting louder and louder at it and Im going to have to start locking it in the sound proofed room with the rooster if I keeps it up.


Any one have a explaination for it doing this?
 
It's not impossible for chickens (female) to start releasing testosterone (or the poultry verion of it) and there have been cases of gender changing chickens. Typically she'll start crowing, stop laying eggs and grow in rooster feathers. It's just a rare thing to happen but not impossible- she might even change back if she wants to.
